Shayla was still drawing at the stall, though she didn't have any paint or proper art supplies. All she had was a sheet of paper and some watercolor pencils borrowed from the daughter of the lady in the next stall.
When Melina walked closer, she noticed Shayla was drawing flowers in the style that the elderly liked. The peonies she drew were large and vivid. Even to Melina, an amateur, she could see how skilled Shayla was.
Seeing how focused Shayla was, Melina approached her and muttered, "Shayla, I have to go tutor. Can you wait here for me? I'll come back in two hours. Save my phone number, and call me if anything comes up."
Given Shayla's timid nature, Melina thought she would hesitate. But to her surprise, Shayla's face lit up as she quickly took out her phone to save Melina's phone number.
Shayla was happy that she now had Melina's contact information. That way, she could keep in touch with Melina even after her leg healed.
