Josephine looked up to see a man emerging from a garden of blossoming roses.
He was a vision, like something straight out of a painting.
He had a refined appearance with a high, straight nose, thin lips, and strong, yet gentle facial features. His voice was warm yet carried a hint of distant coldness.
Beneath the loosely knotted tie, the outline of his defined collarbone was visible. It formed a delicate curve that reminded her of a porcelain doll.
She stared at him, forgetting about the glasses in her hand.
It wasn't until he reached out that she snapped back to reality.
"Sorry."
She instinctively moved to place the glasses in his palm but hesitated. "I accidentally stepped on them. I might have broken them. You should check."
"It's fine," he replied.
