“Yea. You’re right.” Faye nodded before adding, “Thanks.”
Zayn smiled slightly and stepped out of the door without another word.
It was just her, alone in the room, standing motionlessly for a long while. She sighed dejectedly. Why was she brooding now? She could not tell.
Or rather, she did not have the courage to think it through.
It took her two more minutes before she remembered just how many things she had wanted to ask Zayn—his real identity, why he seemed so lost and listless, why he looked like all of his hopes had abandoned him. However, when it was time to ask, she balked in confusion. In the end, nothing came out of it.
The downpour outside saw no sign of abating. Zayn ditched his plans to leave and decided to stay the night at the hotel. It was a night where sleep evaded him until midnight rolled around. All he could think of was what happened throughout the day as he slowly phased from disbelieving shock to acceptance.
