Seth felt a searing pain in his chest at Benjamin's words. Because of his selfishness four years ago, he had not only hurt Layla but also his son. He realized now that Benjamin had always yearned for his mother's love.
He immediately called Rowan.
Several hours passed. Benjamin had been given medication and an IV drip, but his fever didn't subside and remained above 102°F. Seth was growing anxious. "What's going on? Why hasn't the fever gone down?"
Rowan sighed and said, "It's emotional stress. This isn't something that can be fixed by a few IV drips. It's the same as four years ago when he had chickenpox."
