Seth's sharp gaze darkened at Milton's comment, locking onto Daisy's face for a closer look.
Daisy had a delicate, heart-shaped face, a dainty nose, and full, pouty lips—traits clearly inherited from Layla. But her eyes were something else.
They were strikingly familiar, almond-shaped and with a natural, seductive tilt at the corners. Layla once teasingly said the same eyes made Seth look like a charming devil.
He had passed that distinctive feature down to Benjamin.
Seth's heart skipped a beat, and his usually calm demeanor was shaken for the first time.
"Is Mark allergic to fur?" he suddenly asked.
Milton didn't hesitate. "Allergy? Hell no. My aunt's house is practically a zoo—two cats and three dogs."
Seth's fists clenched tightly at his sides. So, Mark's claim of being allergic to cats had been a lie. Why would he lie? Was he trying to hide Daisy's true parentage?
