They stayed in their hideout, trying to find the best opportunity to strike back at Kane. Shirley started to feel sick.
Shirley lay in bed, her skin pale and clammy. Drakon paced the room, his brow furrowed with worry.
"I don't understand," he muttered, more to himself than anyone else. "She was fine just a week ago."
Zack stood by the doorway, his arms crossed over his chest. "We need to do something, Drakon. This isn't just a common illness."
Drakon nodded, his gaze fixed on Shirley. "I know. I'm sending you and a few men to bring Dahlia here. She is our best hope."
Zack frowned. "Dahlia? Are you sure? She could be more trustworthy."
Drakon turned to face Zack, his expression grim. "We don't have a choice. Shirley is getting weaker by the day. I can't lose her, Zack. Not now."
Zack sighed, uncrossing his arms. "Alright. I'll gather the men and head out immediately."
Drakon nodded, his eyes returning to Shirley. "Thank you, Zack. Hurry."
