CHAPTER 8: THE UNWANTED VISIT
It has almost been a week since Shirley was last seen in the dining area. Drakon, who now felt guilty for all he had done to her, couldn't understand why she had decided to avoid him. He had countlessly sent for her to come for dinner every night. But she never showed up, so some maid was there to take her meal to her.
Even though it wasn't customary to eat with her, Drakon had made it sound so serious about her coming to dinner through the guards. She declined every one of the guards, and it went on like that night after night.
At this point, Drakon couldn't hide the pain he felt from her absence. He thought about what she must've gone through during the first weeks of their marriage when he was pretty distant from her. He intended to watch her eat, but how could he do that when she avoided him?
