CHAPTER 65: THE AWAKENING
Drakon fell on the floor beside Dahlia as the remainder of the illusion washed over him.
Shirley quickly came close to Dahilia and cradled the witch's limp body in her arms, her heart pounding with fear; then she heard a thump on the floor as she held on to Dahlia. Her face went white as she didn't know what to do.
"Guards, guards!" she yelled. But Dahlia had soundproofed the room out of fear that Drakon would call his guards to attack her. The room was filled with a glow, the remnants of the spell cast lingering in the air like a stubborn mist. She could feel the chill of the witch's skin seeping through her own.
Drakon lay unconscious a few feet away, his body motionless except for the faint rise and fall of his chest. Shirley's gaze flickered between the two, a sense of helplessness washing over her. She had hoped for so much from this encounter, and now it seemed everything was falling apart.
"Please," she whispered, her voice cracking. "Please wake up."
