CHAPTER 35: INTENSE PAIN
Drakon and his men struggled to the top, and Drakon felt his power draining. They couldn't have been happier when they got to the mage's shrine. The air around the mage's shrine was different and thick.
Drakon felt a chill run down his spine. He had heard she was the best, so he had come all this way for her.
Once they entered the room, the mage sat behind a white curtain, and Drakon could only make out her silhouette. She began to chant in a foreign tongue, and Drakon couldn't help but think it was a little dramatic.
The area around her crackled with an unseen energy, and Drakon felt the hum of the mage's chants inside his skin. She started thrumming a drum, and his heart began to follow the beat of her old drum.
"You seek answers," was all she said. The curtain separating them vanished into thin air, and Drakon could only stare at the old lady in awe.
Her eyes were as white as the snow, threatening to kill them only a few minutes ago.
