CHAPTER 160: FORCES BEYOND THE CONTROL
Shirley and Dahlia sprinted through the dense forest, their footsteps echoing off the trees as they desperately carried Drakon between them.
Shirley tried to control her racing heart as she clung desperately to his hands, begging him to hang in there for her.....for them.
His face was pale, and his eyes were sunken into his face, making him look weak and vulnerable-- not a look Shirley was used to seeing him wear
Her fears heightened. They needed to get him to somewhere safe and warm.
She wanted to cry out to the moon goddess to save her mate but feared her voice would be shaky-- if she still had one left.
She had never felt so helpless, so desperate. Drakon, her mate, her love, her everything, was slipping away from her grasp; all she could do was hope.
When had hope ever helped her? She felt utterly useless and weak.
If she was the one sick and on the verge of death, she was sure Drakon would have already found a way to heal her.
She had done all she could and would save him
