Rowan, witnessing Barkley's suicide and his followers' subsequent self-inflicted deaths, was visibly shaken. She hurried over to Henry, opening her mouth to speak but was struck dumb by the macabre scene.
Henry, frowning deeply, knelt and quickly examined the bodies. "They're all dead," he declared solemnly.
"Why? Why would they kill themselves? They had a chance to live!" Rowan's voice trembled with disbelief and horror.
Henry didn't answer her directly but instead turned to Zane. "Zane, check the sarcophagus."
"Got it," Zane responded promptly, leading his men to the stone coffin. After a brief inspection, they forced it open, only to find it empty. Henry's suspicion was confirmed: The Trey's men had already moved whatever treasures were inside.
