The employee paused and turned around at the sound of the voice. Seeing Damian standing next to a luxury car, exuding an imposing presence, he didn't dare to be dismissive.
"Sir, what can I do for you?" he asked politely.
Damian frowned and gestured toward the department store. "Is there another employee exit? Is there anyone still inside?"
The employee shook his head firmly. "All other exits close at 5:30 pm. This is the only one for employees. There's definitely no one left inside. I'm the one who locks up, and I'm always the last to leave."
Damian fell silent, his mind racing. If no one was left inside, then where could Evelyn have gone?
She definitely came to work today. She didn't even take a lunch break, and she had no other places to go in Kingsbridge.
