Chandler immediately understood Helen's implication—Colin had no intention of harming her or the child she carried, at least not for now.
With that knowledge, he knew he could proceed without hesitation.
Just as Chandler was about to ask more, Colin abruptly snatched the phone from his hand. "You've confirmed what you needed. Enough with the small talk."
Chandler shot him a glare, frustration and anger flickering in his eyes.
Ignoring him, Colin settled into the chair behind him, crossing his legs.
One hand rested on the armrest, supporting his forehead, while the other gently swirled the wine in his glass. His gaze lingered on the rippling red liquid as he spoke. "There's a rumor going around that Chandler's dead. What do you think? Do you believe it?"
"I'm standing right in front of you. What do you think?" Chandler thought to himself.
"I suppose you don't believe it," Chandler said aloud, sarcasm thick in his voice. "Mr. Newton is invincible. There's no one who could take him
