"I didn't say I was running away. I just need some fresh air in the garden. You're welcome to follow me if you must," Abigail replied.

"You do realize that if I told my dad I didn't like you, you'd never be able to stay and work for my family, right?" Abigail interjected, her words cutting like a knife.
At her remark, the bodyguard immediately stepped aside. "Getting some fresh air will aid in your recovery. Please, go ahead, Ms. Fitzgerald."
At last, Abigail took a deep breath, savoring the air of freedom as it filled her lungs.
Under a large tree, a young man with a cast on his right leg sat on a bench, leaving an empty spot beside him. Noticing the gap, Abigail walked over and sat at the edge of the bench.
She closed her eyes, letting the peaceful atmosphere of the garden calm her. As she took in the fresh air, she thought that the hospital wasn't so bad after all—at least here, she didn't have to deal with Aiden.
