Three days later, Abraham led Helen to an upscale café.
When they arrived, his acquaintance, Duncan Churchill, was already seated. Spotting them, Duncan stood and waved, calling out, "This way!"
Abraham guided Helen to the booth where Duncan was waiting.
As soon as they sat down, Duncan wasted no time, sliding a mortgage contract across the table to Helen. "Kaylee, just sign here. You don't need to worry about the details."
Helen looked at the contract on the table, a teasing smile forming on her lips as she deliberately stalled for time. "Why the rush? Can't I at least enjoy a drink before I sign?"
Worried that she might catch on, Abraham quickly intervened. "Kaylee's right. Duncan, you're always so hasty. Kaylee's expecting, so let's give her a moment to relax."
With that, he eagerly handed Helen the menu. "Kaylee, why don't you take a look? What would you like to drink?"
