Logan had mastered the art of lying without batting an eye. Each lie required a whole web of others to keep it hidden.
"I knew it." Lorraine noticed his struggle with filleting the fish and added, "You take care of the shrimp while I handle the fish."
Blushing, he said, "I know how to fillet a fish, but it's been a while. I'm just not used to doing it anymore. The children are still small. I'm worried they might choke on the bones, so I've been avoiding buying fish for ages."
"You could've just bought fish with fewer bones. Do you know how to peel shrimp?"
Logan quickly answered, "Yeah, I can do that."
As he watched her adeptly filleting the fish, he knew she was used to this.
The Somners weren't struggling financially, but they valued teaching their children self-sufficiency. Vanessa and Matthew were capable people as well. The only one who was a bit spoiled was Vanessa's son, Joshua Ware.
"Lorraine, is there anything you need help with?"
