To them, I was nothing more than a clown.
I forced a bitter smile, trying to suppress the pain in my heart.
"Sharon, I didn't plagiarize, and I won't apologize or beg someone like you who can't differentiate right from wrong."
I could hear the anger in Sharon's voice through the receiver. "Kaelan Leroy, after all these years, you really haven't changed one bit. You still refuse to admit your wrongdoings!"
Falsely accusing me was her usual tactic. My heart had long grown numb to it.
"When one is determined to condemn, one will find a pretext. Sharon, you and I both know whether I did those things."
Sharon let out a cold laugh and mocked me mercilessly, saying, "Kaelan, I admire your acting skills sometimes. If I didn't know what kind of person you are, I might have almost believed your lies."
I wanted to say more, but a familiar voice from behind interrupted my conversation with Sharon.
"Kaelan, there's news from the police!" May rushed over excitedly, grabbing my arm.
