Cordelia slurped down two plates of spaghetti in one go and finally felt satisfied.
Thomas gently patted her back and expressed concern. "Cordelia, slow down with the drink. Don't choke."
"I feel alive again."
Cordelia exhaled contentedly. Her complexion had improved significantly. When she was lying in the hospital, she almost felt like she was on her deathbed.
At that moment, her mind had gone blank, a terrifying void.
She took a sip of milk before lazily asking, "How's the game development going lately? Daniel mentioned you've been working late into the night?"
A moment of silence hung in the air, freezing the atmosphere like solidified ice.
Cordelia looked up to find Thomas's gaze turned particularly icy. In their eight years of knowing each other, she rarely saw this expression on him, like a victorious beast restrained from unleashing havoc.
His eyes were ominously dark as if opening from the depths of hell, ready to freeze one's soul.
