Chapter 9 The Apology PART 2

"Mrs. Radcliffe, you're running late for work." Cordelia emerged from the sleeping bag, checked the time, and decided to catch a few more winks since she was already late. Half an hour later, she crawled out of the sleeping bag, got ready, and left the room. Victor reminded her in a hushed tone. "The driver is waiting for you at the door. Mr. Radcliffe arranged it specifically for you." Cordelia thought to herself that Benedict must be afraid of Archibald scolding him, hence the car arrangement. "I'm not in a hurry. Being late doesn't matter. I don't want to go to the Radcliffe Group anyway. Just the thought of facing Benedict's sour face every day ruins my mood." Cordelia went downstairs and only headed to the office after having breakfast. Upon Cordelia's arrival at the office, Amelia and the others were surprised to see her. "How dare you show up at the office again?" "But I didn't receive any notice not to come to work!" Cordelia actually hoped to receive a termination message. Amelia was puzzled. Cordelia clearly offended Benedict yesterday but wasn't fired. Did Benedict forget to deal with her due to being too busy? Amelia casually assigned her a task. "Then, join Team One for a street survey today." Cordelia had no choice but to go out with the team for the survey. The survey form was about the direction of activities for Valentine's Day next month. Cordelia and her colleagues approached people on the street, asking them to fill out the survey. "I'll fill out the questionnaire for you. Can I have your contact information?" A well-dressed and polite young man looked at Cordelia somewhat shyly. This was the tenth man willing to fill out the survey only if she gave him her phone number. Cordelia chuckled. "Sure." The young man smiled even more shyly and quickly filled out the survey. Cordelia politely handed him a string of numbers. "Look at Cordelia, shamelessly exchanging her number for help with the survey." "It means she'll flirt with any man who comes her way!" Mia remarked sarcastically. Just as the man walked a bit further, another man approached Cordelia. "I'll fill out the survey for you. Can you give me your phone number?" "Sure." Cordelia handed out the survey she had. The man took it and began filling it out seriously. In the luxurious Maybach across the street, Benedict looked through the car window. In just a few minutes, five or six men approached Cordelia, asking for her phone number. What was worse, this woman had no sense of a married woman's propriety. Any man who asked for her number, she would give it! Benedict's eyes were as cold as ice, and his voice was icy. "Go and bring her over!" Richard hesitated in his heart. From the beginning, it was Benedict who ordered Cordelia to be assigned to the marketing department. Did Benedict care about her now? Richard didn't dare to delay and quickly got out of the car to bring Cordelia over. Holding a thick stack of survey forms, Cordelia followed Richard toward the luxurious car. Was Benedict going to settle the score with her now? "Richard, is Mr. Radcliffe very angry?" she asked. "A bit, maybe. You better explain to Mr. Radcliffe yourself." Richard opened the car door for her to get in. Cordelia sat nervously beside Benedict. Before she could speak, she heard his icy voice. "Who allowed you to distribute your phone number on the street?" As Benedict finished speaking, his phone kept ringing incessantly...
