Seeing David walk towards us made me shiver. His presence alone was enough to silence me. He stood like a sentinel watching me and Eli, and his face was unreadable. "D-David... Please don't kill him..." I had no choice but to beg because we were no match for him. I was already crying, scared that this was the last time that I would see Eli alive.
"Relax, Ariella. I'm not doing anything yet." David's voice was calm, but it wasn't the calm that meant peace. It was more of the calm before the storm. "And look at him.
