Maria was stunned. Was he so upset that he left the campus? Did she really hurt him this time?
She was going to say that he was like a brother to her, but he didn't give her the chance.

Sophie had not returned any of her texts or calls. Her last response was three days ago, and Maria hadn't seen her in those few days. It was like she had vanished without a trace.
Suddenly, she felt all alone.
