Chapter 103: The Choice of Shadows
Cameron’s POV
Even as I lay there in the blackness of my chamber, struggling to breathe, the name kept repeating in my mind. The evil and twisted voice of the monster had sounded genuine, as if it had reached into my soul and attempted to entice me into its clutches. Like thunder rumbling through the maelstrom of my mind, I could still hear the echo of its call, a low growl. My heart was pounding, and I could feel perspiration running down my back.
I made myself sit up and wiped my face to try to get rid of the pictures that were still there. However, it was useless. The sensation persisted, a heavy burden on my chest that I was unable to get rid of.
Still shaking from the nightmare, I looked down at my hands, but as I peered more closely, my breath caught.
