Chapter 99 A Fierce Fight

With the deep snow cushioning my fall, I didn’t feel much pain tumbling down the slope.
As I rolled down the slope, I could hear Vivian calling my name at the top. Soon, I stopped tumbling.
I scrambled to my feet, shook off the snow, and then helped Ferlanda, who was still reeling from the fall, to her feet.
“Did you knock into anything?” I examined her. She bore no visible injuries, even though her fur was disheveled.
“I’m fine. Thank you, Aimee.” Ferlanda hugged me, her body trembling.
The child must be in shock.
“Aimee! Ferlanda! How are you down there?” Vivian’s voice came from on top.
“We’re fine.”
As we landed in the bumpy terrain, I could just make out the tip of Vivian’s ear from below.
“Hang–” Vivian was cut off mid-sentence by a roar.
With that, her ear disappeared out of my sight.
“What do we do now, Aimee?” Ferlanda was anxious. Despite her attempts, she couldn’t climb back up the slope.
