After parting ways with Alger, I got into the carriage.
However, someone else was in the carriage.
“Dr. Mars? What are you doing here?” I asked in surprise.
Mars waved at me, gesturing at me to keep it down.
“Lady Aimee, Ares has told me to escort you home.”
I sat down, wondering when Ares spoke to him because I didn’t see them together at the ball.
Dr. Mars was a chatty person. From the moment I sat down, he started talking.
“Lady Aimee, were you able to calm Ares down after his shift because of the song you sang or because you sang that song?”
I couldn’t understand what he said. Wasn’t it the same meaning?
Not understanding what he meant, I looked at Mars apologetically.
Frustrated, Mars tapped his head and rephrased his words.
“What I’m trying to say is, did it work because of that song or your singing?”
I had never thought of this question before. Even when I was in the basement of the castle the last time, I simply sang the song I was most familiar
