I was surprised by his revelation. I knew that Letterman was referring to the day Ares ‘killed’ me.
“Letterman, I want you to be honest and ask yourself. Did Ares really tell you to save me?”
Letterman opened his mouth and hesitated before finally admitting, “Well, the King intended to give you a proper burial in a quiet place if I couldn’t save you. However, I believed he wanted me to save you no matter what. I’ve served the King for many years. He’s not much of a talker, but I have always executed his plans perfectly, so there’s no way I would have misunderstood his intentions.”
I smiled, not blaming Letterman for it.
“Don’t worry, I won’t blame you. It doesn’t matter to me what his intentions or orders were anymore. What matters is what he did. I can tell you that I wanted to use that dagger to kill him as well, just like what he did to me.”
