"But I need to eat and get some proper sleep in the morning. Otherwise, if I look sickly tonight, your reputation will be on the line," I reasoned.
Ophelia paid no heed to me, focusing on her meal. I took her silence as tacit approval.
I went straight to bed after washing up and having breakfast.
She tossed a formal suit at me at night. "Put this on. Don't embarrass me."
I took a stomach pill after changing into the suit and slipped some painkillers into my pocket before heading out.
The fever from last night had left me feeling utterly drained. I doubted if I even had the strength to get up now if I hadn't managed to get some sleep earlier.
I looked it up online, only to realize that feeling this way in the early stages was normal.
Besides, the fever and flu would worsen and happen more frequently over time.
I might not have much time left if that was true.
I got out of the car and opened the door for Ophelia as we arrived, assuming that she wanted me to be her dance partner
