Chapter 41
Life often felt like a circle, constantly looping back to the beginning.
For a moment, I couldn't hold on any longer. My mind was hazy, and my body was on the brink of collapse.
I fell several times, blacking out briefly before regaining consciousness, only to push myself back up again.
This cycle of falling and rising continued until night fell once more.
When the darkness returned, I knew I had won.
But by then, I had no strength left.
Eventually, everything went black, and I passed out completely.
When I woke up, I found myself in a ward.
I had no idea what time it was and immediately sat up.
Halston was sitting by my bedside. As soon as he saw me awake, he rushed over. "Thaddeus, you're finally awake. You scared me half to death."
I was surprised to see him there. "What are you doing here?"
That was when I learned Halston had seen a video of me online, kneeling in the cemetery.
He had tried calling me after work but couldn't reach me, so he came to check on me himself.
