Chapter 389 I Could Save You
Stacey immediately became upset. "What did you say?" How dared Conor say that?
Conor pulled Stacey onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her delicate waist from behind. His chin rested on her shoulder as he spoke softly, "You can't carry everything alone from now on. Trust me and leave it to me, okay?"
"Do you think I'm… bad?" Stacey asked quietly.
She didn't care what Eden thought of her. But if even Conor felt that way…
"Fool," Conor replied in a low, gentle voice. "I'm not saying you're bad. No matter how strong you are, please share your pain with me. Seeing you bear it all alone breaks my heart."
He was genuinely concerned. She was so small and fragile, yet she bore such a heavy destiny. He didn't know how to help her.
Tears welled up in Stacey's eyes. Although she had lost some memories, Conor's words still moved her deeply. "Hmph! I'm just not that lovable. You can find someone better."
Conor's thin lips curled into a slight smile. "I just love how unlovable you are."
