Abigail always claimed that I was the one she loved, yet once again, she chose Joshua.
Her gaze flickered briefly before she forced back tears and offered me a tight, almost apologetic smile. "You go ahead and eat. I have some urgent business at the office. Don't wait up for me, okay?"
With that, she grabbed her bag and hurried out the door.
I stood there, watching her leave, feeling ridiculous.
