Bailey frowned at the man before her, confused and breathless. The man studied Bailey with a glint in his eyes.
"Oh, my!" he said, blinking at her. "You are so young that it almost makes me doubt your divinity." A wicked smirk played on his lips.
"Who are you?" Bailey questioned, eyes boring into him. Though she had already assumed, the unexpected appearance of the rogue leader startled her.
Dread curled in Bailey's stomach as the man laughed, unperturbed. "Considering your age, shouldn't you beg for your life first? Or does killing the creature make you think you can make it out of here?" he asked, crossing his arm over his chest.
Bailey narrowed her eyes and said, "If you are going to imply that was something insignificant, fight yourself."
The man broke into laughter, leaning back on the window frame with a sigh. "What an irony! When all I am used to is the elimination, I must raise the prey this time before slaughter. However, I won't deny your boldness piques my interest
