Chapter Forty-Four : Clash
"Caspian, I order you not to hurt anyone in this shrine," my grandpa commanded.
But the lines of apprehension on his forehead didn't go away. The chill under his skin made my grandpa shiver for the first time, assuming the worst. Caspian was always obedient to him, yet the boy in front of him looked like a stranger.
After finding his mate's body devastated, Caspian lost it. The rules of the shrine could no longer hold Caspian because of his possession.
If Caspian hurt the shrine, it would be a declaration of war with their entire species.
"Should I be the one to test my divinity instead? Perhaps unleashing my power here will awaken enough spirits for Bailey and me," Caspian said.
Caspian's body emitted a dangerous force again. My hand was close to the harp, resting against Caspian's chest. I had one more attempt left.
Though it felt good to see my mate standing up against the race for me, it would bring disaster for the pack in the end.
