Chapter 470: Mistake
Lucia
She could pretend, check it, pretend that she hadn't sent it to Talia, and hope that Talia didn't see it in her dreams. It was all just wishful thinking. It was foolish, and she knew it.
Then, without warning, she felt it—a sharp, angry pull through the mental bond she shared with Talia. The familiar sensation of Talia’s presence flooded her mind, and Lucia’s heart sank. The snapshot she had accidentally sent earlier had stirred her, just as she had feared. Talia was awake and furious.
“Lucia.” Talia’s voice rang in her head, sharp and demanding. “What the hell did I just see?”
Lucia winced, biting her lip as she scrambled for a response. She hadn’t expected Talia to confront her so quickly, especially not in the dead of night. She could feel the anger radiating through the bond, a simmering fury that was ready to boil over.
“Talia, I—” Lucia started, but Talia cut her off.
“Don’t try to brush this off. I saw it. The gate, the seals... what the hell is going on, Lucia?!”
