They were taking books back with them—at least the king had allowed them to do so. Of course, it was worrying, to say the least. Amalia herself was quite concerned. Fortunately, or unfortunately, they had the option to take as many books and materials as possible. Connor had taken quite a lot, shoving them all into what he called the infinity space. He could store as many things as he wanted in there, which slightly worried her. Perhaps he had well-hidden things in there before, but then again, why wouldn’t he? He wasn’t exactly young.
"We want to see my cousin," she said, meaning Roderick.
"Oh, he'll be with you shortly," Roderick had said. "You can wait in his office."
In truth, she understood. The recent forceful unification of most of the tribes had taken quite a toll on him. Constant negotiations and meetings for days on end were wearing him down, and she was genuinely worried about her cousin's safety and mental health.
