That was all that stayed with me throughout the night and into the next morning. I spent about thirty minutes to an hour in the bath, simply thinking about the prophecy, about Avario, about the story—heck, to the point where I even began to play it out in my mind: the way he was found, the way he was carried, who cared for him. I groaned and rubbed my face vigorously, trying to get the thoughts out of my mind. It had happened to Talia. Let it go. Your son is safe; your son is alive. Why is it so important to fixate on these small details? Of course, I didn’t have an answer. I was merely playing my due role as the fussing mother, even though it made no sense.
