We made our way below deck, the warmth of the ship's interior a stark contrast to the icy grip of the mist outside. Morgana stepped out of her cabin and matched my eyes in the hallway. She had a mildly pissed expression on her face. Of course, no one needed to tell me twice that she hated being here. I wouldn't blame her if she wanted to go back.
"Let's look for something to practice with," she said.
I spent quite a while in her room, mulling over everything, especially my stance.
"When it's time for you to cast a spell, you need a foundation," she instructed. "You need to strengthen your feet, especially when you're dealing with Earth, Metal, and Fire Magic. Water is different—it's fluid, so with water, you can stand any way. Your stance doesn't matter as much. But with Fire or other elements that aren't so malleable, they require more stiffness."
