Avario didn't linger with Valerie. He walked over to her brother, Nelson, who stood before him, waiting for the boy to say something. Nelson had always been a reserved child, but Avario had expected at least a hint of emotion from him. The boy cast his green eyes to the ground before slowly raising them, his eyes a mirror image of Talia’s and Frederick’s, making him look as though he was staring at a younger version of his mother. Yet, his features clearly resembled his father's.
"You’ll find her," the young boy said.
“No matter how long it takes,” Avario responded, pulling the boy into a hug. He recognized the look in Nelson’s eyes—one of slight hopelessness mixed with fear. This hopelessness was evident from the fact that his mother had not been found, even after Baron had called for help. Avario understood, having experienced similar emotions himself.
