ARIEL'S POV
I turned to Catherine, who was still staring at us. She looked terrified after what had happened, and I totally understood that. Back then, in school, I got bullied, even though my family was kind of silk-stocking.
Standing next to my car, I moved closer to Catherine, fixing my hand on her shoulder. "You're okay, right?" I asked her calmly.
She glanced at me slowly but didn't respond. I let out a deep sigh and held her hand.
"I know how you're feeling right now. It's a terrible feeling, and I understand that. But you can't let those girls get into your head. Just let them be, alright?"
"Mom, it seems like you've forgotten what happened back there," Janice chimed in. "Catherine's new in school, and those girls were making fun of her. That's just rude."
"I know, Janice, and trust me, I'm going to make sure the principal gets to know about it."
"Well, she better do. Those girls are pretty stupid."
"There's no need to be rude now, okay?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
