ARIEL'S POV
"Luke, I mean it," I said, my utterance taking on a pleading tone as I struggled in his arms. "You need to let me go. We're never getting back together, and you need to accept that."
He stared into my eyes; it was a great combination of pain and confidence etched on his face. "I can't accept that, Ariel. Not when I know how good we were together."
"We're not together anymore, Luke!" I blurted, my frustration reaching its peak. "Why can't you understand that?"
Before I could say anything else, Luke's lips crashed against mine in a desperate, passionate kiss. I tried to pull away, but the intensity of the moment held me captive, and I found myself responding to his touch, my anger momentarily forgotten.
