LUKE'S POV
I finally arrived home after that brutal moment with Matt. I never thought I would be so heartless on that man, but he totally deserved it. No doubt about that.
Walking closer, still feeling the weight of the confrontation with Matt pressing on my chest, I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt mixed with a tinge of satisfaction. It was like a storm raging inside me, battling between what I knew was right and what I had done. But before I could even start unpacking these emotions, I heard footsteps.
"Evening, Luke," Randy greeted, walking closer to me.
"Evening," I greeted him, mustering a weak smile.
"Whoa, what's with the long face? Tough day?" he asked, his brows furrowing with concern.
I shrugged, trying to play it off. "Just one of those days, you know?"
But Randy wasn't buying it. He always had a knack for sensing when something was off with me. Yeah, that was kind of his thing in these past few years, and I had to say, it was pretty amazing or fucked up.
