Kimberly’s heart sank as her phone rang, the familiar tone signaling an incoming call from Edward. She had been dreading this moment ever since their fateful agreement, knowing that the deadline for her payment was fast approaching. With trembling hands, she answered the call, bracing herself for Edward’s ultimatum. “Kimberly,” Edward’s voice came through the line, smooth and menacing. “Our agreement date is over. You know what that means.” Kimberly’s stomach burned with anxiety as she listened to Edward’s words.
