Chapter 122: Confrontation in the Garden
Kimberly took a deep breath as she approached the garden. The lush greenery and vibrant flowers did little to calm her racing heart. She knew this conversation with William was long overdue, but the thought of facing him and the inevitable confrontation made her nervous. She could feel her stomach twitching.
As she rounded the corner, she spotted William sitting on a stone bench near the fountain. His back was to her, his posture tense. He appeared lost in thought, his fingers idly tracing the edges of a leaf he had plucked from a nearby plant.
“William,” she called softly.
He turned slowly, his expression unreadable.
“Kimberly,” he acknowledged, his voice flat.
She walked over to him, stopping a few feet away.
“I need to talk to you,” she said, her voice trembling slightly.
“Talk, then and make it quick, I have things to attend to.” He said as he raised an eyebrow.
Kimberly hesitated, gathering her thoughts.
