It’s been three weeks since the accident, the hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of medical monitors. Gift lay in the bed, her legs immobilized by casts. Quinn and Kimberly had been there a few days ago , but Gift had made it clear she didn’t want to see them again. The heartbreak and betrayal were just too raw.
Gift’s eyes were filled with tears as she stared at the ceiling, replaying the doctor’s words over and over in her mind: there was a slim chance she would ever walk again. She felt a deep ache in her heart, not just from the physical pain but from the emotional devastation.
The door to the room creaked open, and Mrs. Woodwell stepped inside. Her presence immediately filled the space with a chilling aura. She was impeccably dressed, her demeanor cold and unyielding.
Gift turned her head slowly, her eyes narrowing as she saw Mrs. Woodwell enter.
“What are you doing here?” she demanded, her voice weak but filled with anger.
