Charles quickly responded, "Alright, but don't make anything fancy. You know I'm not picky."
Enrica gave Charles a small smile. "Okay."
She stood and walked into the kitchen. As soon as the door shut behind her, her legs gave out for a second, and she nearly stumbled.
She'd been putting on a brave face for her father, but inside, she had a terrifying theory.
Charles had always been a kind, well-liked man. Before the accident three years ago, he'd just retired and had plenty of friends. He had never been one to argue or hold grudges.
After the incident, his social circle had completely disappeared. There was no one he could've possibly offended. This was too much of a coincidence to be a random accident.
Then, she remembered how Jilliana had tried to use Charles to blackmail her into testifying falsely for Miguel.
Was this Jilliana's revenge against her?
