Chapter 26

VIOLET’S POV It was a new day, but I was in pain. My entire body, including my head, hurt, and at first, I was confused, I had no memory of being in any battle, let alone a war. That was until the memories I thought I didn’t have played in my mind. I sat up abruptly, no doubt looking like a mad woman, and my mouth hung open. I can’t believe I mated with them, I thought, pushing myself off the giant bed that was now empty of their presence. It had only the scent they left behind and even that was a mixture of mine and sex. I wondered where they were off to, but I pushed the thought away, deciding to worry about the shooting pain between my legs instead. I winced as I stood, scanning the room. I walked over to the dresser, checking to see if amidst last night’s event I had been marked. Letting out a sigh of relief, I placed my hand on the table to calm my racing heart when I sighted no mark whatsoever. “You had your heart racing the same way last night, Vi.” Of course, she had to be smug
