When Ivy noticed the fake native, she breathed a sigh of relief.
The heavy downpours turned the night into a freezing abyss. As they were drenched in the rain, the leaves around them rustled loudly. During the storm, the sound of the waves crashing and the wind howling made it seem like something out of a nightmare.
Ivy was drenched from head to toe and shivered in the freezing weather. The chill seemed to penetrate her bones. She'd just come to a halt to catch her breath when she heard a flurry of heavy footsteps close behind them. In the dim light, everything was crystal clear.
Ivy and the fake native exchanged a glance.
They kept running without stopping.
The cold rain slashed her face like a knife.
After only a few minutes, she felt as if her heart was about to leap out of her chest, and her legs came to a halt, listening in on her thoughts. The surroundings were dark, and it was impossible to see anything aside from the rain.
