Chapter 31: The Fall
Olivera’s POV:
I eyed Leonard with disdain as he rattled on, his voice grating like nails on a chalkboard. He seemed unusually chipper this morning, much to my irritation. I bit my lip, trying to focus on anything other than his insufferable banter. My mind kept drifting back to the dream I’d had just before his frog-like voice yanked me back into reality. The same dream, again. The lady and the man standing on the mountain’s peak, gazing out over the vast expanse below. It was always the same scene. What did it mean? How long would these dreams plague me?
Should I ask Nick? I dismissed the thought as quickly as it came. He was a doctor, not a dream interpreter. But still, someone out there must know what was happening to me.
