ACHILLES.
“Your friend is going to burn down the place,” the female Rogue whispers, her bleeding lips twitching. “And she’s going to burn along with it.”
I thought that it’s her mocking me, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that it’s not mockery. It’s warning.
“This place is full of things that burn easily,” she continues. “Once she lights up that match, then everything will be swallowed. Including her. Including you. You need to stop her. And you need to stop the others from harming her.”
I get on my feet, taking my sword again. ‘Then you have to come with me. You… you’re not like the others. I can protect you.’
At first, she doesn’t say anything. Then her lips move, stretching into what I assume is her version of a smile. I can see her teeth, and I notice that they are all sharp, protruding from the back of her lips like her mouth can’t possibly contain them all.
“No,” she says simply. “You need to go.”
I still have this great feeling that she has more to tell,
