ACHILLES.
To say that I’m stunned is an understatement. I feel like my soul just flew out of my body and returned in a rush, leaving me breathless and still thinking that I lost something.
The heart monitor beeps in a normal rate, sounding more and more like a taunt rather than an assurance that Hyperion is alive and well. I look down at my arm and see bruises already forming in the shape of his hand and the way he grabbed me. I didn’t even feel him grabbing me that hard.
Hell, I don’t even know what really happened.
Warehouse. I just know that he said that. Loud and clear for everyone to hear. He snapped out of his nearly deadly coma just to utter those words.
Now if that isn’t a guide, I don’t know what is.
For what seems like hours, none of us speaks. We just stare at Hyperion like we’re waiting for him to leap out of bed and strangle one of us. And judging by the way things played out just seconds ago, I would not put that past him.
