I swallow hard. I’m not complaining about the fact that I seem to have new powers popping up every now and then, but this one I find pretty hard to wrap my head around. All I can do is stare at Aristea while she smiles at me.
“I don’t understand,” I mutter. “I know I can command people and get in their heads sometimes by making them do things they’re not exactly willing to do… but I don’t think it extends to this case. I can’t possibly command Larkin to talk about what happened right?”
“No,” Aristea says, getting up and facing me. “But powerful Siren Wolves have always been able to get into other people’s heads. One way or another. A broken mind would be… easier to break into, if you know what I mean. You could see what he saw. And you can express to us what he no longer cannot.”
My blood goes cold. I know I have done terrible things with my powers before, but something about creeping into the mind of another person like that, like a parasite, doesn’t make me feel good at
