Angel’s POV
I sprinted through the dark forest searching for someone, anyone, that could help me. Leaves and branches crunched underneath my bare feet as I ventured deeper and deeper into the forest. My heart pounded in my chest, my breaths coming out in short, painful gasps. Despite the wolfsbane wearing off, enough lingered in my system to prevent communication with Kira. I needed to find somewhere safe to hide until I could shift again.
The night was chilling, and although I wore warm clothes, my body shivered with fear. Ignoring the numbing pain in my feet, I ran until they were bloody from stepping on sharp twigs. I then decided to make camp for the night, climbing up a towering tree until I found a sturdy branch that could support my weight. Resting against the trunk, I took deep, calming breaths.
I retrieved a bottle of water from my bag and quenched the dry burning in my throat before applying another layer of Moonshine all over my body to ensure my scent remained untraceabl
